The View From Here - Jane Andersen, multi-media artist
I am semi-retired, now enjoying developing my creative talents, focusing on monoprinting and collage work, as well as jewelry making with natural materials. I use many types of mark-making using mostly acrylics . I have been invited by Kerri Luciani to present beside her at the Public Market during the 2024 Art Crawl.
Jane’s sensitive appreciation of nature’s most beautiful elements synthesize with her love of man-made, often geometric shapes and patterns. Her paper-based creations include a wide variety of mark-making and monoprinting techniques, often evoking a sense of rhythm and buoyancy. Jane’s jewelry and textile creations are similarly grounded in nature, as her materials are primarily glass, stone, silver, gemstones, leather, driftwood, and wool, etc. Many of these have been recaptured and re-used from a variety of sources, in processes that leave a soft environmental impact.
