Ken McMaster - Woodturner
I am a life-long woodworker who went on to become a journeyman cabinetmaker. Around 1990, I retrained as a high school shop teacher and spent 30 years in the school system, the last half as a career facilitator. I have always had a lathe, and have recently found more time to use it. Currently I am retired and can be found in my shop on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia.
I use sustainably harvested, or gleaned logs from the forests and beaches of the BC coast. I love how every block of wood reveals its own shape as I form it on the lathe. Each unique piece is hand rubbed with a food safe finish.
Ken is a long-time woodworker and woodturner who has been a ‘Coaster for over four years. All Ken’s bowls are turned from sustainably harvested, or gleaned logs from the forests and beaches of the BC coast. From small change bowls to large family salad bowls, each unique piece is hand rubbed with a food safe finish.
Showing in the ground level gallery at the Rockwood Lodge 5511 Shorncliffe Ave during Art Crawl 2025.
