I am a graphic artist by profession and graduate of the Alberta College of Art (now Alberta University of the Arts) in Visual Communication. I have lived on the coast for the last 22 years and as my business is transitioning I have involved in more personal artistic expression. Even though I have been using soft pastels for a while, I am still experimenting with line and shadow and colour within the context of natural things. Fur, feathers, surfaces. The opportunities for so many different textures with this medium on textured paper is very intriguing.
