PR – Texada Blues & Roots Festival

Aug 5 & 6. Most of our performers are local – from within 100 km of Gillies Bay. A music festival is for everyone. There will be a farmers market, food and craft vendors, a kids’ zone for the young ones to play, and a place to quench the adults’ thirst.

Deck the Halls Artisan Fair

Our annual Deck the Halls Artisan Fair is here! This year it will take place solely in the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre building. Many local vendors will be displaying their wares and festive food treats will be available for purchase. It’s the perfect time and place to get into the holiday spirit while picking up a gift and supporting our local vendors.

The first Christmas Fair that the Sunshine Coast Arts Council produced was held in 1979 in the current Sunshine Coast Arts Centre. Over the years, the Fair has changed venue from the Sechelt Band Hall to the Rockwood and Seaside Centre before finally coming home once again to the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre, expanding to two venues last year, and this year returning to one.

Entrance is by donation.

55th Halfmoon Bay Fair

ITS BACK! The 55th Halfmoon Bay Fair is coming to Coopers Green Park on SUNDAY, JULY 16TH! Thanks to our Signature Sponsor, 91.7 Coast FM, for providing season-long media promotion for our 2023 Calendar of Events. There’s a full day of activity for the entire family! Starting Take the Shuttle Bus, sponsored by Saxon Contracting, bring along your blankets, chairs, water and sunscreen, and leave the driving to us! The bus route map is on our website. Starting at 9:00 a.m. with the traditional Pancake Breakfast by the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary, there all-day long music on the Main Stage, food and drinks by local vendors, and a 35+ booth Marketplace, bingo, 50/50 and more!

Creek Daze 2023

This year’s festivities will start out at the Roberts Creek School at 10:15am to gather for the Higgely Piggely Parade that will make its way down to the Pier!
We welcome a variety of vendors offering information, crafts and wares, food and activities!
There will be a kidz zone with face painting, games and things to play with.
We are honoured to have Emily Picard who will be painting a piece throughout the day that will be auctioned off at the end so come buy tickets at the RCCA tent!
As always we will have a stage at the Mandala featuring Monty Montego, Estelle and the Honeydews, Mr Doug, Matt Hughes and the Shapes We’re In, Jankyy Tyygr, the Driftwood Players and more!

PR – Sunshine Music Festival

Focused on local and emerging artists, curated by our new Artistic Director Sophia Sanford. From Vancouver-based Glam-Rock band fronted by women on saxophone and vocals. Get moving on the dance floor with Bad Buddy and their psychedelic surf, punk, pop sounds to local favourite Dennis Bouwman is back with us this year too. Naduh is bringing us some Rnb Hip Hop with an astrological twist.

PR – 7th Annual Texada Island Blues & Roots Festival

Aug 5-6. Offers great music and a good time for all ages. We feature local talent second to none, and all performers hail from within a 100 km radius of Texada. Travel here by boat, air, or ferry. Texada now has a TAXI if you need to come from the ferry or boat club. Camping on site, food vendors, a refreshment tent and more. Enjoy a weekend of great entertainment including a Gospel hour.

There will be a Jazz Band, a Country Band. a Blues Band. and Folk singers and more. There will be a greater diversity of music this year.

Hackett Park Artisan Fair

The Hackett Park Artisan Fair is an annual gathering of local and regional vendors. The Fair has been an annual tradition on the Coast for 35 years, and attracts close to 5000 visitors seeking to discover the creations of artisans who are jury selected based on craftsmanship, originality, and the unique items they have to offer for sale.

We will have live musicians in Hackett Park’s new amphitheatre. There will be a large variety of artisans, artists, entertainers, and food vendors!

The entrances to the Fair are located at the corner of Trail Ave. and Medusa as well as Trail Ave. and Dolphin St. in Sechelt. Admission is by donation for adults and free for children under twelve.

Quilters Guild Show: Coast Inspired

May 26, 10-6 pm; May 27, 10-4 pm. A quilt show featuring: Over 200 quilts, merchant mall, door prizes, raffle quilt, youth creative corner. Feature artist – Fibreworks Studio, Alexis Bach.

Sundays to Sept 4. Grown, Farmed, Foraged, Hand Made & Crafted, Live Music. Supporting local farmers, artisans of every kind and local food and drink vendors.
Enjoy our 11 acre farm, Feed the chickens.
Full restaurant open 12-6. Legendary Farm brewed beers and ciders, non or low alcohol options and a selection of coastal cultures water kefirs on tap.

John Campbell Soul/Jazz singer & Pianist performing @ Hackett Park

We are blessed to have John Campbell coming to the Coast!

John is a singer/songwriter pianist and composer based in Toronto Canada. John’s rich soulful voice and virtuosity on the piano and keyboard has given him a distinctive sound in soul/r&b/jazz and gospel music. A performer, producer, actor and speaker, John’s artistic and creative voice is based in hope, passion and inspiration.

Come enjoy his performance on the stage @ Hackett Park in the evening of June 3rd featuring our local star Kiki Connely!

It’s a family friendly free event but please bring a cash tip to bless the artists with a Thank you!
