PR – Powell River Farmers’ Market

Saturdays to Sept: 10:30am – 12:30pm & Sundays 12:30 – 2:30pm. An old-fashioned, country-style farmer´s market selling fresh, locally grown vegetables, fruit, farm-fresh eggs, home baking, honey, preserves, pickles, pies, candy, and wild-crafted specialties. Local artisans provide one-of-a-kind items. Produce is grown without pesticides or herbicides, and the market supports sustainable farming and the humane treatment of animals.

PR – WORKSHOP: Watercolour Techniques with Noelle Blue Moon

Join Noelle Blue Moon, as she guides you through the wonderful world of watercolours. This workshop will serve as an introduction to several essential watercolour techniques and provide you with the skills and tools to create a watercolour landscape and continue on your painting journey.
Participants will learn wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry and dry brushing. Noelle will also cover several methods for creating texture and playful effects and show you how to work your way up from simple washes to beautiful landscapes using layering and glazing to create rich colours and depth. Basic masking techniques like wax resist, taping and masking fluid will also be covered.

PR – WORKSHOP: Block Printing 101

Join us for an introduction into the wonderful world of Block Printing! In this workshop, you’ll learn what makes an effective image, how to transfer it to a rubber block, how to carve it safely, and finally how to print onto paper.

Participants will then be printing their image onto their own Moleskine cahier notebook and some greeting cards. And maybe some other fun things!

PR – Max Cameron Theatre: Raine Hamilton String Trio

Art is for everyone, music is for everyone. This performance will have American Sign Language interpretation.
Raine is part prairie songstress, part storyweaver; Each song has a story, delivered between songs with humour and grace. Raine invites deep love of the violin into the singer-songwriter genre, writing for violin and voice, as well as for guitar and voice. Joined by cello and upright bass, expect string arrangements that push and pull, that move as they console.

Saturdays.  All Jammers get 1 Free drink, enjoy the music, dancing and Best of All, enjoy the company. Pub food available to purchase until 7:00pm.

– Scout Mountain, Powell River’s own bluegrass sensation, will kick off the night with their unique blend of rootsy, acoustic sounds.
– Rueben DeGroot and his band O.C.D. will take the stage, showcasing his unique songwriting style and raw, emotive vocals.
