Roxanne Hoffman Pottery
I began working in clay a few years ago and continue to evolve my style as I experiment with different finishes and techniques. I am focused on bringing some of my Métis heritage in to my work and have been working on different ways to do that. I have also recently been inspired by my visit to Portugal where pottery is a way of life in several villages. Most of my pottery is functional and wheel thrown with some hand built pieces.
I am pleased to be participating in the Art Crawl for my third year and excited to showcase some of my new work over the last year. I continue to focus on bringing new forms in to my practice as well as new functional designs.
This year I travelled home to Manitoba and took the opportunity to visit the oldest house in Winnipeg which was owned by a Métis couple. It was inspiring to see in person some of the beautiful beadwork patterns and I am working to incorporate this in new work.
Showing at Pat Forst Pottery Studio during Art Crawl 2023.
