Helena Wadsley

Helena Wadsley is a Langdale artist whose practice involves textiles, drawing, and video.
Her work has been exhibited on five continents, with an upcoming exhibition at the GPAG in October-November 2025. In 2023, she received two Canada Council grants. Recently, her artwork has appeared in three publications, Flourish, produced by Brooklyn-based Honradez Brutal, Quo Vadis, Tradition and Innovation, 7th Riga International Textile and Fibre Art Triennial catalogue, 2023, published by the Latvian National Museum of Art, Threads of Tomorrow by Museu Textil, Chicago, 2024, and Mother Art Prize, 4th edition, by Procreate Project, London, UK, 2025. Coming out in October 2025, Yarn in Contemporary Art, Charlotte Vannier, Pyramyd Editions, will include her work.
While Helena Wadsley has a Masters’ degree in painting, she now focuses on textiles. She has been exhibited internationally & is included in several publications. She has an exhibition at the Gibsons Art Gallery fall of 2025. Her textile works incorporate re-purposed materials that are sewn or knitted into seductive forms. Each piece comes to life through a contrast of colours & shapes.
Helena also makes oil paint. Her line, Madder Paints, are hand-made using pure pigment. Pigment-loaded, unctuous, & made without solvent, not required in their use.
