Gambier Creations - Nancy Grenier

I’m proud to carry on the creative legacy of my family—skilled artisans who crafted beautiful, practical pieces made to last. My work blends tradition and colour, using Tunisian crochet techniques and natural yarns dyed in Canada. The result? Cozy shawls in natural fibres of original colour blends that offer both comfort and timeless style. I also enjoy shaping and hammering copper wire by hand to make pins that become perfect companions for the shawls.
Every piece I create is unique, crafted with care and inspired by the natural beauty of Gambier Island. I make each item with heart, intention, and a deep appreciation for lasting craftsmanship.
For three magical days, I am immersing myself in the imaginative world of artists Jen Drysdale and Gord Dieroff. Their working studio is the perfect setting for inspiration, a place where my colourful Tunisian crochet shawls and I feel right at home. Each shawl is unique, made of natural fibre hand-dyed in Canada by independent dyers (artists in their own right!). I’ll demonstrate hand-shaping of copper wire to make shawl pins. Showing with Jen and Gord at 1070 Stewart Rd. SE corner of Stewart Rd & North Rd (across the Persephone Beer Farm driveway).
