Shy and Derek are a husband-and-wife team whose talents in cedar craftsmanship wonderfully complement one another. Shy excels in crafting woven cedar hats and various other cedar items, while Derek specializes in carving, producing everything from plaques to totem poles. Over the years, they have collaborated to create numerous exquisite artworks. Aupe Studio is situated on Shy’s ancestral lands of the shishalh Nation, where Shy is a proud citizen, and Derek belongs to the xwemalhkwu Nation.
