Aug 16-17. The Hackett Park Artisan Fair is an annual gathering of local and regional vendors. The Fair has been an annual tradition on the Coast, and attracts close to 5000 visitors seeking to discover the creations of artisans who are jury selected based on craftsmanship, originality, and the unique items they have to offer for sale.
This year’s Fair will take place in the lower field of Hackett Park. We will have a large variety of artisans, artists, and food vendors, as well as live music presented by Rogue Fest!
The Fair can be accessed via Medusa Street and at the corner of Trail Ave. and Dolphin St. in Sechelt. Admission is by donation for adults, students and seniors, and free for children under twelve.

In a two-day intensive workshop, Brigitte will guide participants through each and every step of her unique process. Beginning with preparing the wooden matrix, to applying inks in an intaglio fashion, to pulling prints, participants must have some printmaking experience, and must bring their own carving/wood-cutting tools.

Mending Matters Drop-in Workshop with Catherine Nicholls

Join us for this monthly drop-in session, exploring visible mending techniques with instructor Catherine Nicholls.
Mending can be so much more than just patching a hole! Mending Matters will introduce participants to the simple, practical skills required to repair textiles and how to turn those simple stitches into an art form that is both decorative and functional. Participants are encouraged to bring along a favourite clean piece of clothing or household textile they would like to mend.

The Fair has been an annual tradition on the Coast for 34 years, and attracts close to 5000 visitors seeking to discover the creations of artisans who are jury selected based on talent, originality, and the unique items they have to offer for sale. In keeping with our ongoing tradition, the fair will coincide with the popular Festival of the Written Arts (August 11th-14th, 2022, celebrating 40 years!)
This year’s Fair will take place in the lower field of Hackett Park and at the Arts Centre.
We will have live musicians in Hackett Park’s new amphitheatre and fun activities at the Arts Centre. There will be a large variety of artisans, artists, entertainers, and food vendors!

This year we are delighted to offer 3 kid’s summer workshops, each combining art making with outdoor exploration. In the morning participants learn to weave, collage or paint led by a senior artist/teacher. In the afternoon, walks and discussions take over as we explore natural spaces near the Art Centre. Workshops run 10:00 – 3:00 each day, with a break provided for lunch. Participants must bring their own lunch, a water bottle and a mask if needed for any indoor activities.
