Do you love to play Scrabble or Chess? Or both?
Drop into the Library’s Mainil Room to play with others! Alternate Friday afternoons, 3–5 pm, starting May 13th.

Climate Change: Where we are, where we are headed – A Conversation

Workshop with Dr. Michael Healey

Professor Michael Healey will introduce the basics of climate change, the cause being primarily the burning of fossil fuels. He will outline the expected effects, as well as the cure. Additionally he will discuss adaptation to the climate change that we cannot avoid no matter what we do. This workshop has lots of fascinating material and will be delivered in a conversational fashion as to offer lots of opportunity for the audience to ask questions and express opinions.

A Day of Discovery with The Coastal Village

Join us in the morning in downtown Sechelt. We will we walk our future building site and the nearby seaside neighbourhood.
Meet in the Seaside Centre with our designer as he paints the picture of our new community and how we will fit into the larger Windward Estates Neighbourhood and with Sechelt. Discover more about our plans for the apartments, buildings and the development timeline. Learn how TCV began and the multiple benefits of living in our community as opposed to a typical neighbourhood.
Have lunch with (new) friends then relocate to Roberts Creek Cohousing for a tour and meet with RC members.
Finish our day on the Gumboot patio.

Registration and masks are required for the Seaside Centre and RC Cohousing.

Community Art Making Workshop

“Connections”, a community art making workshop is a fun, creative, social engagement. Activities include storytelling, visual arts, participatory art installations and light snacks. Participation is flexible- attend 1, some or all. Seniors (50+) are all welcome.

TCV Plans for Environmental Sensitivity & Healthy Living

Join our interactive Session with James, TCV’s designer, to talk about the environmentally sensitive principles and priorities that are guiding the design of the TCV neighbourhood.
Consider how finishes, materials and features will work together and improve with age; how materials/floor/wall assemblies will contribute to sound suppression & increase thermal performance and how architectural/mechanical/electrical systems will be integrated.
Learn what contributes to healthy indoor environmental quality (air, light, ventilation) and how TCV will be sensitive to water management.
