Granthams Hall: Winter Solstice Candlelit 5Rhythms with Julie Plotkin

To honour the darkest days of the year, and dance with a quieter expression. Honouring this time of year as an opportunity to resource ourselves. The darkness invites us to go within, to slow down, to dream, to rest, and to be still.
This class is a fundraiser and class entry will be by donation with 100% of the proceeds to the Sunshine Coast Food Bank. Additionally, I will have a box out to collect non-perishable food items for the Food Bank. You are invited to wear all black to honour the darkness.

RC Hall: Trouble in the Headwaters – Film Screening & Panel Discussion

a powerful 25-minute documentary by filmmaker Daniel J. Pierce. The film explores the devastating 2018 flood in Grand Forks, BC, and the hydrological connection between clear-cut logging and catastrophic flooding.
The documentary features the groundbreaking research of Dr. Younes Alila, professor of forest hydrology at UBC, whose peer-reviewed science shows how government and industry have consistently underestimated the flood risks caused by clear-cutting.
After the screening, stay for a panel discussion with Dr. Alila, filmmaker Daniel J. Pierce, and Suzanne Senger, Executive Director of the Sunshine Coast Conservation Association.
