NSMEC Marine Science Summer Camps for Kids

The Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Center offers experiential, educational spring break and summer day camps for school age children in Gibsons and throughout the Sunshine Coast! We keep our group sizes small, and our staff-child ratio high, to maximize fun and safety. Our camps focus on various themes around local marine ecology, biology, and conservation – taking place inside our aquarium, and outside at nearby beaches and parks.

Born in St. Johns Newfoundland Brad Wells grew up between both coasts before settling in Gibsons. At the age of 19 he started teaching himself how to play guitar and has been working hard at it for over a decade. His influences are diverse and include heavy metal and rock bands, and musicians like Buckethead, Ben Woods and Paco de Lucia. This diversity of taste allowed him to develop a unique, exotic, and easy listening style that is very much his own. You can often find Brad playing at local gatherings and open mic events.

Gibsons Public Market: Saturday Live Music – Corner Table

Corner Table consists of Pamela Girone, Peter Hill, and Gary Bowman. Each has been involved in musical endeavours for the better part of their lives, playing together for over twenty-five years. Their adventure started with the blues, but it didn’t take long to add standards and a few pop tunes to the mix. These musicians bring a whole lot of experience to a listening audience, and are very happy to share their music at Gibsons Public Market.
