Hackett Park: World Hunger Day BBQ

Draws attention to hunger worldwide. Our Sechelt Food Bank serves over 2,000 people a year … Your local service clubs are working together to raise awareness about hunger in our community. Serving free hotdogs along with live music from Blue Western along with line dancers.

If you are able, donations of $ funds and non-perishable food items are appreciated.

Pints for Purpose: Beer, Cider & Cocktail Festival Fundraiser

Announcing the first Gibsons’ Rotary Pints for Purpose Fundraiser!

Join us to raise a glass while raising funds for impactful local causes on the Sunshine Coast: 100% of net proceeds will go to supporting the Gibson’s Rotary Club’s local causes, such as accessible housing projects.

Enjoy a variety of local BC breweries, cideries and cocktails, as well as non-alcoholic beverages and mocktails alongside live music, delicious food and brewery tours.

Gibsons Public Market: Neighbourhood Night

This will be our last Neighborhood Night until the fall. We have Kemal Evens performing some of his original songs with infectious melodies and danceable rhythms.  Emelles will be serving Happy Hour from 3-5 pm and continuing to serve right until 8pm.  Merchant floor is open until 6 pm and childcare in the coastal room from 4-8 pm.

Ukrainian Pisanki Egg Demonstation

Demonstration of Ukrainian pisanki eggs being ‘written’. This is a special feature to celebrate Easter and the opening season day of the Sechelt Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market. Join us as artist Janet Richey shows you the colourful process of making these icon decorated eggs. Janet will be graciously accepting donations to support an art therapy program for children in war-torn Ukraine. While you’re there check out the many new and returning vendors of the market! There will be some Easter fun for the whole family. Rain or shine!

Gibsons Curling Bonspiel – Fundraiser

Come and enjoy a fun community event while helping to raise money for the Roberts Creek Child Care Society.

Curling starts at 1pm. Your ticket includes instruction while on the ice from the wonderful Gibsons Curling Club volunteers, and a bangin’ woodfired pizza of your choice from Coast Forno. The lounge/bar upstairs will be open for cold drinks and socializing.

Be sure to dress warm and comfy, grips for your shoes on the ice will be provided.

Groundhog Day Burger and Fun Night

Suncoast Phoenix Community Choir presents its major fundraising event of the year! Tickets include a Rotary Club burger (Vegan, GF options available) plus extras AND Musical Entertainment by members of the Choir.

A bar will be available.

Additionally, there will be a Silent Auction (cash or e-transfer only) and a 50/50 Draw.

Max Wyman speaks about The Compassionate Imagination

Author, former art critic and arts policy-maker, Max Wyman, will read from his new book, The Compassionate Imagination. How the arts are central to a functioning democracy. He was an arts critic and columnist for The Vancouver Sun and CBC Radio for over 30 years. He is the author of seven books on the arts in Canada. Fundraiser: Sunshine Coast Writers and Editors Society.

The Chatelech grad class is hosting a bottle drive. We are asking you drop off your bottles at Chatelech Secondary from 11am – 2pm. You drop off, we do the dirty work.

A fundraiser, by donation, to the Pender Harbour Reading Centre. Take your own digital picture of your pet with Santa, or get help from us.

Our popular annual exhibition Present Tense features the creative work of GPAG members in all mediums.

Present Tense is a celebration of the creativity of our members, as well as a fundraiser for local artists and for GPAG. Members have been invited to submit one original piece for this show in the Main Gallery and up to four pieces of tiny art in Joe’s Lounge (formerly the library lounge). This exhibition includes paintings, photographs, drawings, prints, sculpture, fibre arts, wood work, and much more! Join us on Saturday, Dec 2nd, 12pm – 2pm for the opening reception.

Food Bank Drive

A chance to meet your Sunshine Coast Paramedics and support them and our community at their annual Food Bank Drive. We’d love to see you as we once again try to fill an ambulance with food. Simply donate either non-perishable food item(s) or good ol’ cash to assist those in need around the community.
