PRESENT TENSE MEMBERS EXHIBITION

Our popular annual exhibition Present Tense features the creative work of GPAG members in all mediums.

Present Tense is a celebration of the creativity of our members, as well as a fundraiser for local artists and for GPAG. Members have been invited to submit one original piece for this show in the Main Gallery and up to four pieces of tiny art in Joe’s Lounge (formerly the library lounge). This exhibition includes paintings, photographs, drawings, prints, sculpture, fibre arts, wood work, and much more! Join us on Saturday, Dec 2nd, 12pm – 2pm for the opening reception.

Food Bank Drive

A chance to meet your Sunshine Coast Paramedics and support them and our community at their annual Food Bank Drive. We’d love to see you as we once again try to fill an ambulance with food. Simply donate either non-perishable food item(s) or good ol’ cash to assist those in need around the community.

Gibsons Public Market: Winter Market & Festival – Friday

Join us on Friday from 4-9pm for live music and dancing Half Cut and the Slackers, festive food from Emelle’s & Kitchen Classics as well as childcare (by donation) in the Coastal Room along with activities and a holiday movie. Door is by donation and all proceeds help support the Gibsons Community Building Society.
The merchant level will also be open 10am-7pm.
Nicolas Sonntag Marine Education Center will be open from 4-7pm on Friday and 10am-5pm Saturday with free admission donated by BC Ferries.

Heritage Playhouse: Unpacking The Nutcracker

There are riddles behind the melodies of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s final ballet, The Nutcracker. In this entertaining talk, writer and storyteller Michael Gurney explores the life and death of Russia’s most famous composer — and his holiday masterpiece that took on a life of its own. Michael weaves humour, characters, images and music into a high-spirited enrichment experience suitable for all ages.
All proceeds will benefit technical upgrades for the Heritage Playhouse.

Flowers for Foodbank

This make and take event will have you making lovely Christmas arrangements in the inspiring and fun workship space at the Kube.
December 3 from 11-5, $30 minimum donation, with all materials provided and all proceeds going to the local foodbank.

Grab some friends, your best clients, sports groups, co-workers, book club buddies, fam jam, people you want to have some cheer with and email kristawollen@gmail.com to book your group’s 1 hour time slot to make Christmas arrangements together. OR I will also have the 1-2pm slot for anyone who wants to get to know some new people in the community and come solo or with a few pals.

Ravens Cry: Fab-Yule-Us

We’ll be collaborating with Sunshine Coast Affordable Housing Society to give you FAB-YULE-US! A Christmas drag story! ALL proceeds raised will benefit SCAHS, and support developing affordable local housing. Last year, we raised $17000! With your help, we can surpass that!

St Bart’s: Once More with Feeling Concert

Joining Trudi Diening, vocals is Miles Black on Piano, guitar and vocals, Boyd Norman, bass and Patrice Pollack, vocals and percussion.
In this concert they will be featuring male singer/songwriters across the genres. Folks like Cat Stevens, Bruce Coburn, Sting, John Prine, Burt Bacharac, Don McLean, Bob Dylan etc. These are songs that are our favourites and touch the heart.

3rd Annual Pumpkin Smash

Drop your pumpkin to get smashed, dropped & run over from Nov 1-3rd, 8am-4pm or bring them on the day of the event. We will donate $3 for every pumpkin brought in to support local families this Christmas. Family fun for a good cause.
