The Contemplative Stitch – Fibre, Stitch and Story, Lund BC

The focus of this class will be to explore the use of cloth, colour and stitching to create decorative, functional story-filled blocks and patches. The blocks are suitable for clothing, wall hangings, stitch journals or to incorporate into other slow-stitch projects. We will also explore colour and its impact on the visual and emotional expression of your work. You will need basic sewing tools, including scissors, straight pins, needles, etc. All other supplies will be provided including access to an extensive collection of laces, ribbons, and trims. Please bring a bag lunch. Coffee, tea, water, and break snacks will be provided.
Seating is limited to 6 participants – unfortunately, the studio is not suitable for individuals with mobility issues. There are many stairs to navigate.

PR – The Contemplative Stitch – Boro-Inspired Stitching, Lund BC

This class introduces a Japanese form of stitching and textiles that traditionally was referred to as “mended or patched cloth”, a skill that was necessary in keeping clothing functional. You will need basic sewing tools, including scissors, straight pins, needles, etc. Please bring a bag lunch. Coffee, tea, water, and break snacks will be provided. Seating is limited to 6 participants – unfortunately, the studio is not suitable for individuals with mobility issues. There are many stairs to navigate.
