xRCCA is excited to invite you to CREEK DAZE 2026!
Join us this year as we kick off the festivities at Roberts Creek School, gathering for the lively Higgledy Piggledy Parade leading down to the Pier! Get creative with your costumes straight from the tickle trunk! Meet at 10:45am, parade at 11:11am!
Explore a diverse array of vendors offering information, crafts, delicious food, and engaging activities for everyone to enjoy. Kids will love the KidZone featuring face painting, games, and playful activities.
Don’t miss the vibrant music performances at the mandala stage from 11:30am-6pm (see the discussion board for lineup) and the Slow Sundays Stage at Library Park from noon-3:30pm. Performance by the Story Theatre at the Gazebo, Be sure to browse through the renowned Library Book Sale from noon-3pm—it’s a can’t-miss event!
Stay tuned for more details about the stage line-up, artists, vendors and more! Bring the whole family for a day packed with fun! There will be a water station so bring your water bottles to fill! We do our best to make this a zero waste event!

The 1969 Clubhouse, Restaurant, & Patio Grand Opening

Join us July 3rd for the grand opening and renaming of The 1969 Clubhouse, Restaurant, & Patio at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club. We will have local live music, $5 local draft beer, 1/2 price wings & dry ribs, & food and beverage combo for $19.69.

Summer IGNITE Girls’ Soccer Program

What is IGNITE?
IGNITE is a week-long camp that incorporates a blend of soccer and mindset exploration in a fun and active environment. We use soccer as the vehicle for supporting the development and growth of players’ confidence, resilience, social skills, and understanding of themselves.

Who is leading IGNITE?
IGNITE will be led by SCYSA staff coaches Holly Neate and Devon O’Reilly, alongside experienced guest facilitators and youth mentors. The program is structured to provide a supportive environment where participants can build skills and connection to the game, as well as to each other.

Who is IGNITE for?
IGNITE is a program for girls and non-binary youth of all soccer levels. This includes players who are:
-Have never played soccer before
-New to soccer or have limited experience
-Currently playing in foundation/recreational soccer programs
-Currently playing in pre-competitive or competitive soccer programs

What will players do?
Each day includes a mix of:
-Soccer-based games and skill activities
-Team challenges and creative exercises
-Confidence- and mindset-building activities
-Structured and free-play scrimmages
-Guest workshops

Gibsons Library: Urban Safari Rescue Society

Be Amazed and Surprised! Urban Safari Rescue is bringing the world of exotic animal rescue to introduce the vast world of animals to people of all ages. Meet fascinating insects, arachnids, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals while being fascinated, educated, and entertained. This presentation also emphasizes the pitfalls of keeping exotic pets and why many of them end up in a rescued animal facility.

Persephone: Hazel – Kinship Flags at wa shew̓áy̓ ta x̱wítl’em

Featuring Hazel Bell-Koski – a gathering of images that honour and celebrate the multi-faceted mysterious event called life on planet earth. The images come from many places: dreams, casual phrases, flashes of insight offered by a vision, poems, a conversation, a pattern of leaves on the ground, the song of a bird.

Tech and nature nerd field trip at Elphinstone Farm

Come hang out and learn for a day with techy and farmy nerds at the beautiful Elphinstone farm in Gibson’s. A recently adopted asset, this nascent farm is set to become a home and hub for dweb* x agricultural tech in the Sunshine Coast.

​This event is intended for curious people of all ages!

Program for the day ( 11:30am to ~6:30pm) :

* Mesh Curious workshop ( https://dwebyvr.org/meshcurious/ ) with Emily and Jacob. Learn about decentralized, offgrid networking technology. We’ll be coordinating a group buy ahead of time. More details to come!

​* Wetland agriculture with Arturo Farias. We’re investigating the farmland with an eye to constructing a chinampas style wetland agriculture. Arturo will show and tell some of his previous work on the subject

* Mycelial Networking (topic TBC) with Mendel Skulski from the most excellent https://futureecologies.net

* Citizen Science with iNaturalist for beginners – with Matthew Forster. We’ll onboard participants to the iNaturalist platform ( https://www.inaturalist.ca ), explain some of the community practices and have some fun challenges for the day.

* Farm tour – Elphinstone farm is still nascent as a farming operation, but it’s a beautiful space and we’re happy to share the visions.

​Admissions are by donation (recommended $20+). We’ll use all provided funds to first cover hard expenses (insurance, rentals, etc) then an even split between presenters.

Times are approximate and subject to change based on ferry operation. Event opening should coincide with arrival of every participant travelling on the 9:50AM ferry from Horseshoe Bay.

PR – Gillies Bay: Texada Island Sandcastle Weekend

July 11-12; Activities Kick-off Sat July 11th with a Parade at 11:00 am, soon after, the Bed Races and the Show and Shine both get started at the Gillies Bay Ball Park while the water crowd heads to Gillies Bay Beach to compete and/or watch the Skim Jam Boarding Competition.
