Printing with a gel plate often feels like it is in the realm of magic. It is a recent addition to the artist’s toolkit and is gaining traction as an essentially painterly method that allows for multiple yet unique prints from the same plate, without a press.
This three hour workshop is suitable for those new to Gelprinting as well as those who wish to refresh their basic skills in an atmosphere of exploration and discovery. We will cover the fundamentals – colour blending and gradations, creating textures, using masks and stencils, the use of different viscosity paints, building a composition and registering multiple layers.
