I have been weaving willow, cedar, rush and big leaf maple bark baskets for 6 years now. Cedar, rush and maple bark are harvested from the Powell River area and the willow is grown on the studio site. The baskets are colourful and employ traditional and contemporary mixed bark designs. I studied basket weaving with Joan Carrigan from Salt Spring Island and Stephanie Craig from the Columbia River area, Oregon. Mushroom harvesting baskets, cell phone covers and rush hats are some of the offerings at the studio.
