Val believes all of life’s questions are answered in nature, and that immersing oneself in it is healing. We are ALL part of this magical, symbiotic relationship. Now that Val has retired as a speech language pathologist, her passion is helping to communicate this connection to others through botanicals (flowers, foliage, and other elements found in nature, using mostly what she has grown and tended to in her garden). She creates botanical bas reliefs with clay she forages locally (returning it back to its source afterwards) and hydrocal plaster, stretching the boundaries of this medium by incorporating sculpture and painting and other mixed media into her pieces. Each piece is unique; no two are alike. Just like each of us!
