The Only Animal (TOA) is an interdisciplinary arts company whose mission is to bring art and artists to the heart of the climate crisis. We foreground social connection and slow creation to offer a form of environmental activism that takes place in the folds of our everyday lives. Our ‘slow social’ events reflect our understanding that transformation is an ongoing process, not a single experience, product, or show.
Experience a seasonal harvest of TOA’s material explorations, collaborations, and public curiosities this fall.
We will be transforming the Rockwood Lodge into an interactive and intimate eco dye labyrinth. Each room will reveal an aspect of TOA’s multi-disciplinary arts practice. Visitors can view samples and join live demos to try natural dye, eco-printing and embroidery, and hear soundscapes that evoke a sense of place.
We will also be debuting and offering eco dyed bandanas for purchase, that capture the colour of season and showcase beautiful graphic designs by Keely O’Brien.
