Canadian artist Teresa Selbee-Baker lives on Savary Island. A figurative oil painter, she creates visual stories exploring from experiences and perspectives on femininity. Selbee-Baker earned her BFA from Thompson Rivers University in 2006 and continues to seek learning opportunities. Her current work examines how generational influences shape women—the tension between societal expectation and personal authenticity—through bold colour, portraiture, and nature. Her art has been shown in BC, Chicago, and online, featured in Artist Talk, Suboart, Art Seen, Women United, on CBC’s North by Northwest, and recognized with a 2025 Atelier Artist Residence.
