Studio 8240 - Allyson Clay

Allyson Clay is an artist who lives in Xwilkway, B.C. She taught visual art at S.F.U. for 30 years and has taught at Cap College, ECUAD, and UBC. She works with many different media and often uses text.
Clay has a BFA from NSCAD University, and MFA from U.B.C. She has exhibited nationally and internationally for over 30 years. Her work is in many collections including the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, the Banff Centre, and the Art Gallery of Windsor. Awards include, Senior Artist Grants from the Canada Council, the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Residency Program and the Canada Council Paris Studio. Clay’s work is concept driven. She variously works with painting, photography, video, and text, installation, and combinations of these.
