Michel Beauvais is a stone artist who has been represented by Creations Gallery at the Empress Hotel in Victoria for over 30 years. Michel’s family is Mohawk, from Kahnawake, Quebec. He moved to Halfmoon Bay in 1998, where he continues his lifelong artistic journey deeply rooted in connection to land, history, and heritage.
Michel has two public works in Sechelt, one located in front of the Sechelt Library and the shíshálh Nation’s Residential School Memorial, located behind the Raven’s Cry Theatre.
Primarily working in marble for nearly four decades, Michel has recently begun exploring new mediums. This year marks his first time participating in the Sunshine Coast Art Crawl, and he is excited to share new directions in his evolving body of work.
