Heather Lippold
Heather Lippold is a ceramic artist and technician. In 2013 she graduated from Emily Carr University and fell in love with the clay community. She is a board member and active volunteer kiln technician with the PGBC. She is a founding member of the Dusty Babes Collective.
Her work weaves between the sculptural and the functional, with a recent emphasis on objects that integrate into daily rituals. She is inspired by the archival property of ceramics, the ability to capture moments in time through clay.
Her work is fired primarily in soda and gas kilns, embracing the unexpected as an essential element of the artistic process. Each piece becomes a unique collaboration with the kilns, where the firing introduces variations that contribute to the distinct character of the final pieces.
Her most current work weaves between the sculptural and the functional, with a recent emphasis on objects that integrate into daily rituals. She is inspired by the archival property of ceramics, the ability to capture moments in time through clay.
Join her at her cozy home studio for the 2024 Art Crawl, where she will be showcasing both her functional and sculptural work.
