Doria is a full-time artist based in Whistler and Halfmoon Bay, represented by Mountain Galleries at the Fairmont Whistler, Banff, Victoria and Jasper.

An advocate for bears (black and spirit bears, grizzlies and polar bears) she has spent many days observing and photographing them in order to paint large, intimate portraits of them. Doria has been artist in residence for 5 years at several top bear-viewing lodges in the Great Bear Rainforest. She is the official artist for the Grizzly Bear Foundation and member of the board, donating 1% of sales to the GBF. Doria also paints children and landscapes of coastal and mountain areas that are dear to her heart.

Art Crawl Details

I am incredibly grateful to live in this beautiful part of the world, dividing my time between Halfmoon Bay and Whistler. My primary studio is in Whistler, near Mountain Galleries at the Fairmont, and there I paint mostly large grizzly bear portraits and snowy mountain or forest landscapes. Here on the coast I am inspired by coastal scenes, Smugglers Cove, arbutus trees, birds, and children playing on the beach.
The new Halfmoon Bay General Store is gorgeous with a wonderful cafe. I’m thrilled to have my first in person Art Crawl there, sharing with my gifted sculptor friend John Clinton.
