Anders is a Canadian landscape artist.
Working within the tradition of Canadian landscape painting while embracing a contemporary approach, Anders Petersen creates paintings that explore the invisible forces shaping the natural world. Through plein air studies and direct engagement with the landscape, he investigates the relationships between wind, water, light, terrain, and atmosphere. Rather than documenting a place, his paintings seek to reveal the energy, movement, and interconnected systems that bring it to life.
Anders Petersen is a Sunshine Coast–based artist working in acrylic on canvas. Inspired by the inlets, islands, forests and mountains of coastal British Columbia, his paintings are rooted in real places but not exact representations. By shifting perspective, light, colour and scale, Anders builds on what he sees to create a more expressive interpretation of the landscape.
