For this particular and peculiar collection, Charlotte used the stark contrast of black thread against white fabric to create the shadows, fine details, and textures from Richard Breton’s 1565 publication Les songes drolatiques de Pantagruel (The Drolatic Dreams of Pantagruel). These hand embroidered pieces feature detailed images that are at once haunting and mesmerizing.
