Bringing together A Cappella Strait and Choralations Children’s Choir in a program tracing the long tradition of people using music to reflect the conflicts of their times.
From the Renaissance era until today, choral music has been used to both protect and challenge the status quo, to push for social change, and to provide hope and inspiration for the future.
In this program the common thread is the struggle: as inspiration for the music, or as a protest of a perceived injustice.
With styles ranging from motets and madrigals, spirituals and protest songs, to choral compositions, this program should have something for everyone.
