This was followed by a stint as a typesetter in a small letterpress shop where he was tasked with handsetting and casting hot metal type on Ludlow linecasting equipment, as well as assembling my forms for the presses. This first hand exposure would bring about a transformative change in his career when, after 20+ years of designing with type by digital means would come full circle and return to analog methods for arranging type for the page.
