Raven’s Cry Theatre: James Ehnes, violin & Andrew Armstrong, piano

Canadian violin superstar James Ehnes comes to Sechelt, Monday, Sept. 7 for an intimate recital at the Raven’s Cry Theatre. He’ll be on a special national tour celebrating his 50th birthday with acclaimed pianist and longtime collaborator Andrew Armstrong. Ehnes is widely recognized as one of the best violinists of this or any other generation – a true virtuoso with flawless technique and unmatched depth of expression, the winner of two Grammy Awards, three Gramophone Awards and 12 JUNOS. The program includes selections by Brahms, Bartók and the world premiere of “Imaginal”, a new work by Canadian composer Carmen Braden co-commissioned by the Coast Recital Society.
