April 4 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Gumboot Cafe is pleased to present “Art & Words,” a month-long retrospective honoring the life and 40-year career of the late Erica Snowlake. Running from April 1 to April 30, 2026, the exhibition explores Snowlake’s evolution as a community artist, wordsmith, and co-founder of the Roberts Creek pier mandala.
The retrospective centers on Snowlake’s belief that art is a form of meditation and revelation. This collection highlights her signature interdisciplinary style, where text and imagery function as “portals” for inner exploration and reflection. A central goal of the exhibition is to place these works directly into the homes of the community Erica loved so dearly and freely. Postcards from the afterlife. All proceeds from the sale of the art will fund a forthcoming catalogue of her collected works, to be published by Temporary Utopia Press.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the venue on Saturday, April 4th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM This gathering has been created the honor the courageous, loving, creative spirit and extraordinary visionary that is Erica Snowlake. All are welcome, there will be story telling, music, faery fanfare, beat poetry and erotic fruits and vegetables.
