FreeJoin us for a reading from local author, Johanna Goldenberg as she reads from her debut novella, The Sharp Edge of Seashells.
In a little town in British Columbia, hidden away behind mountains and under the shelter of pine trees, two girls on the cusp of adolescence orbit each other as the beginning of high school looms ahead. Cassandra, grown used to saying goodbye, feels safest hiding from the world, and Seph, the only person she confides in, has a head filled with dreams. Suddenly, Cassandra finds herself alone, lacking her familiar shadow. Over the course of a handful of days wrapped in the dark blanket of November, she wanders the streets of Ship’s Haven, searching for traces of her best friend and finding echoes of herself in the trees instead.
