Gibsons Library: Artist Reception – Sprit Rising: Japanese Canadian Artist Oka

Local artist Steve Oka is a Sansei who draws on his Japanese Canadian roots to express himself and his people’s experiences struggling with discrimination, cultural identity, and trying to fit into a world where they felt and sometimes feel apart from.

During the month of August, Oka’s mixed media and collage work will be on display at the Gibsons Public Library and at the Sunshine Coast Museum.
