Dr. Ahmed Al-Rawi from SFU’s Disinformation Project research unit will deliver the free 2025 Clifford Smith Memorial Lecture on Saturday, September 13, at 14:00 at Raven’s Cry Theatre, Sechelt.

This free, all ages, public lecture will help you understand disinformation and the disruptions it presents in our digital era. What is fact and what is false? Using examples from Canadian and international media, Dr. Al-Rawi will focus on the spread of both misinformation and disinformation, how to navigate the challenges of identifying false information, and some ways to protect ourselves against it.
