Artist Talk + Exhibition Reception: Clare Wilkening

Clare Wilkening’s upcoming exhibition “Digestion and Transformation in the Salish Sea” explores through various forms of ceramics to understand on a bodily level the socioecological systems within the Salish sea.

Clare explores how animals interact with the world through embodied sensorial perception and the movement of energy through ecosystems via feeding, excreting, and dying.

The narrative in the work emerges from the connections between projects, creating an ecosystem in and of itself, within and parallel to the Salish Sea ecosystem.
