Matt Boismier is an Ontario born artist who, through observation and with style, translates the energy of people and places into compositions that highlight the beauty in the everyday.
Boismier, known as Tooninator, blends his background of illustration and animation with a fine arts approach. Working nearly 15 years as a character designer + art director for the animation industry allows him to create expressive watercolour work that brings a strong sense of character, movement and mood.
Moving to the Sunshine Coast in 2021, Boismier now calls Gibsons home. He’s the founder of the monthly Drink + Doodle event and can be found sketching the locals in his everyday-carry sketchbook or painting en plein-air in a parking lot.
