Sharing Our Stories: The MAID Experience
Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) has been legal in Canada since 2016. Since then, thousands of Canadians suffering from a medical condition have chosen MAID. What does it feel like for people whose loved ones have made this choice? Information is available about the process, how to access MAID, legal issues, etc. It is time now to shine a light on the emotional aspects of the MAID experience.
Coast Hospice is presenting an evening of learning and conversation with people sharing their experience accompanying a loved one through MAID. Each story is unique. Each story is moving and poignant. Following the presentations, there will a moderated Q&A which will include a local palliative physician who is a MAID provider. Registration required. Admission is by donation.

Each session includes a light lunch and refreshments, information and resources, and the opportunity to socialize while connecting with others who are living a shared experience.
