Pottery on the Wheel Summer Workshop
July 10-14. This is Pat Forst’s favourite workshop to teach. She loves to see the satisfaction students get from starting a project in the morning and finishing it in the afternoon! This workshop is suitable for beginners to any level of experience. The class is small, so there is plenty of time for one-on one with each student. Begin by learning the three basic shapes that can be used to make bowls. mugs, plates or almost anything your heart desires! Experienced students will continue to create matching set with lids and handles.
Materials – clay may be purchased during the class, $3.50/lb (includes clay, glazes and firings).

Glenn Lewis and Naoko Fukumaru began ceramic collaborations in early 2020 with Fukumaru applying Kintsugi mending to ceramics either made or collected by Lewis. Kintsugi is a five-hundred-year-old Japanese method of mending damaged ceramics using special Urushi tree sap (lacquer) dusted with gold powder to highlight (rather than hide) restorations.

Hackett Park Artisan Fair
The Hackett Park Artisan Fair is an annual gathering of local and regional vendors. The Fair has been an annual tradition on the Coast for 34 years, and attracts close to 5000 visitors seeking to discover the creations of artisans who are jury selected based on talent, originality, and the unique items they have to offer for sale. In keeping with our ongoing tradition, the fair will coincide with the popular Festival of the Written Arts (August 11th-14th, 2022, celebrating 40 years!)
This year’s Fair will take place in the lower field of Hackett Park and at the Arts Centre.
We will have live musicians in Hackett Park’s new amphitheatre and fun activities at the Arts Centre. There will be a large variety of artisans, artists, entertainers, and food vendors!
Entrance by donation!
