Raincoastlight - Heather Himmel - Trail Island Artists
I am a visual artist who loves to express the light and joy of living on the west coast of British Columbia. I work primarily in watercolour but sometimes also in acrylic. When not painting, fibre arts such as weaving, felting, and surface design are other creative outlets . I was a teacher in the public school system for many years but recently retired and am now able to pursue my art career on a more full-time basis.
Having recently moved full-time to the Sunshine Coast, Heather has found her “happy place”. The beauty of ocean, forests, flowers and wildlife feed her soul and are an endless source of inspiration for her artistic expression. She works mainly in watercolour but also ventures into other mediums from time to time. She is thrilled to be participating in this year’s Art Crawl at Rockwood Lodge with such an amazing group of talented artists.
