I am a painter and my current work focuses on the use of colour and shape to create a theme, sometimes abstract and sometimes not. My main medium is acrylic paint but I often add other media to achieve the effect I’m looking for. My work during the past year has followed two general styles. The first has been what I refer to as the “Tree Series”, a series of realistic impasto paintings presenting anthropomorphic portraits of cedar trees. The second is what I generously call “Doodle Work”, detailed variations along a theme that allow me to experiment wildly with shape and colour.
