DancingColorSilks - Evi Blueth
I learned batik in Indonesia where I studied at a studio in Jogyakarta. As an avid traveler, I later explored the South Pacific where I learned the fiber art of heliography, or sun dyeing. My work was displayed at the Filberg Festival and many other shows.
I am now doing hand painting on silk using many techniques. I am delighted by the brilliant colours and luxurious feel of the silk.
My skills all lend themselves to each other and my love of nature and colour has always been reflected in my work. I am an avid (slow) hiker and if I’m not teaching or in my studio, I am likely wandering in the hinterland where the elks graze.
