DESCRIPTION:Max 50\, Registration required (a few tickets will be held at the door) \nCelebrate the closing of the Festival with Candace Campo and Trent Maynard as they present their film Nature Girl. After the screening\, Candace and Trent will engage in a discussion. \nFilmmaking duo Trent Maynard and Candace Campo spent five years documenting the surprising species living in a small wetland in the shíshálh Nation swiya. Using poetry and motion sensor cameras\, this short film documents the intergenerational bear families using a multi-species scratching post and watering hole\, alongside newts\, frogs\, elk\, owls and bats.

DESCRIPTION:Join shishalh Nation to recognize\, honour\, and support survivors of residential schools\, and commemorate the children that attended the Sechelt Residential School.\nSchedule of events:\nCommemoration Ceremony: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm at the Residential School Monument Site.\nA commemoration ceremony will take place to honour and remember attendees of the Sechelt Residential School. Drumming and singing\, speakers\, moment of silence and cultural ceremony will take place.\nWalk for Reconciliation: 12:30 – 1:00 pm.\nAttendees are invited to participate in a walk for reconciliation that will begin at the Residential School Monument site.\nCommunity Feast: 1:30 pm\nFollowing the walk\, a feast will be held at the shishalh Nation Hall for all attendees. The meal is free of charge; however\, donations are welcome and will go directly toward supporting Elders’ wellness and activities.
