The Songbird Forest Concert Series – Playing with the Wind

Born and trained in Japan in the classical zen shakuhachi tradition, Alcvin Ryuzen Ramos is an avid practitioner of the Japanese art of forest bathing and is fascinated by the meditative states induced by the flute.

 Renowned improviser and jazz musician, Graham Ord hears music in the most innocuous sounds – a woodpecker, the rain, footsteps, and his response is always imbued with a great sense of humour. (steep 40 minute hike).

Attention music-loving hikers! For three Sundays in June and July, the Living Forest Institute presents an afternoon of music under the trees. Join us in the endangered SongBird Forest for three very unique and wonderful performances by local musicians in two naturally acoustic venues.
