Raven’s Cry Theatre: Charles Richard-Hamelin

Concert #2 of 3-day Piano Fest: The Coast Recital Society is delighted to welcome Charles Richard-Hamelin to the Raven’s Cry Theatre. Charles previously performed for the CRS in March 2018 and in March 2023 and there’s a reason we keep inviting him back.
Charles Richard-Hamelin has been called a “national treasure” and is simply one of the greatest pianists playing today anywhere in the world. Only a few weeks ago he won Quebec’s Prix Opus for Album of the Year for his latest solo release, as well as the prize for the best classical concert of the year in a performance of Brahms sonatas with violinist Andrew Wan.
He is described as a “highly sensitive” pianist (Gramophone), and his playing driven by “a great depth of feeling without the slightest condescension” (Le Devoir).
