Mobilizing for the Climate Emergency—The Role of Faith Groups

November 25 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Seth Klein, Director of Strategy of the Climate Emergency Unit, will visit the Sunshine Coast to give a virtual and in-person talk on “Mobilizing for the Climate Emergency: The Role of Faith Groups.” This free event—which is part of St. Hilda’s Green Forum fall speaker series—is based on Klein’s seminal book, A Good War: Mobilizing Canada for the Climate Emergency, which explores how we can align our politics and economy with what the science says we must do to address the climate crisis. A Good War is structured around lessons from the Second World War—the last time Canada faced an existential threat. Canada’s wartime experience, Klein contends, provides an inspirational reminder that we have done this before, mobilizing for a common cause across class, race and gender.
