Intro to Gel Plate Printing and Abstract Collage with Artist Jennifer Love

Printed papers are the foundation of Jennifer’s art practice. This class will provide an opportunity to learn some of her techniques for creating, and utilizing them in multi-layered collage.

On the first day we will print on paper using a gel plate, and will touch on the technique of using laser prints of your own photos or drawings for resist/transfer prints. These papers will then be employed on the second day, perhaps with assorted paper ephemera (music scores, dictionary pages etc), to compose simple abstract collages.

You will complete the workshop with several one-of-a kind art cards and the beginnings of a larger collage.
