Gibsons Public Market: Cooking Traditional Korean Japchae – Free

This program aims to integrate newcomers and locals within the Coast community by sharing the simple pleasures of preparing traditional recipes, family food secrets, and coming together to eat.

Joy (Gaeyol) will be leading the cooking of Japchae (잡채) which translates to “mixed vegetables.” The main ingredient of this classic dish is Korean sweet potato starch noodles (also known as glass noodles). The dish is often served with beef and flavoured with sugar and soy sauce. Japchae is a common dish for traditional holidays and special occasions.
