Art Exhibition: Gibsons Public Art Gallery – TESSA CARTER | The Four Seasons of Chapman Creek Estuary (ts’úkw’um)

Resulting from a year-long painting practice at ts’úkw’um, also known as Chapman Creek Estuary, this exhibition in Joe’s Lounge invites viewers to see the estuary with new eyes, to feel its presence, and to honour its complexity and resilience. The estuary is a place of confluence, where fresh water and saltwater meet, where herons, salmon, sedge, and the sky co-exist in dynamic rhythm. Over twelve months, Tessa Carter returned again and again to this tidal zone to witness its changes; the shifting light, the migrations, the floods, the droughts, and the wild quiet.
