Art Exhibition: GPAG – KITTY BLANDY | Finding Animus
April 1 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Free
to April 30th. In this exhibition in the Main Gallery Kitty Blandy presents three series of mixed media artwork in 2D and 3D exploring what it means to be animal. The Homologous and Animus series presents body forms that suggest animality without specificity. The Tetrapoda series is visually literal in the depictions of endangered or at risk species, and the Dormiens series includes images that focus on the body at rest. She explores the physiological relationship between animal forms, how this creates a shared inner being and a somatic empathy, and how this prompts us to recognize our animal selves and how we should act towards our fellow species and environment.
MEET THE ARTIST: Saturday, April 1st, 12 pm – 2 pm. Please join us for conversation & refreshments.
